What's a Color Run? So glad you asked!
A Color run is an event that celebrates healthiness, happiness, and individuality where runners wear white shirts and get showered with colored powder at stations along the running route.
The color run is a fun and untimed event that has no winners or trophies/medals, but encourages participants to take selfies and throw more color powder at each other. It's a way to promote health and activity among our Island View Eagles.
Island View's color run has a route that goes around the school and stays on school grounds.
Every time a runner gets to the finish line after completing a lap, they receive a colored bracelet. While there are no winners, the kids seem up to the challenge of earning as many of these bracelets as possible!
Why the registration fee?
The Color Run is one of the PTA's fundraisers, so we thank you for your support!
Money raised from this event supports the educational programming at Island View Elementary. Items like field trips, school plays, purchasing gym gear, and meeting other school needs. It also goes toward purchasing yearbooks, monthly popcorn days, supporting field day, and myriad other programs and initiatives.
Can I get a t-shirt?
Yes, absolutely! T-shirts (designed by an amazing local artis Slow Loris), with a graphic similar to the image below, are available for $15 with your registration and will be handed out at the check-in booth before the Color Run begins. Surplus t-shirts may be available in limited sizes on the day of the event for $15.
